An Update from the Canadian Journal for the Academic Mind

The Editorial Board of the Canadian Journal for the Academic Mind has made the difficult decision to cease publishing new issues and accepting submissions for the time being.

Since its founding, CJAM has sought to create an accessible, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, and open-access platform for student scholarship. Over the years, we have had the privilege of publishing the work of students and emerging scholars from a wide range of disciplines, while creating opportunities for students to participate in editing, peer review, and academic publishing.

Maintaining a journal of this kind, however, requires significant and ongoing editorial capacity. After careful consideration, we have determined that we are no longer able to sustainably maintain the editorial, peer-review, and publication processes necessary to continue operating CJAM at the standard that our authors, reviewers, and readers deserve.

As a result, CJAM will no longer accept new submissions or proceed with new publication cycles for the time being. Previously published issues and articles will remain available through our website so that the scholarship entrusted to us continues to be accessible.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has made CJAM possible. This includes the student authors who trusted us with their work, the reviewers who generously contributed their time and expertise, the editors who worked behind the scenes on each issue, the academic advisors who were there with us from the start, and everyone who read, shared, supported, or otherwise contributed to the journal.

We are incredibly proud of what CJAM has accomplished and of the scholarship we have had the opportunity to publish. While we are unable to continue publishing at this time, the work produced through CJAM remains something we deeply value.

Thank you for being part of the Canadian Journal for the Academic Mind.

Yours sincerely,

Nir Hagigi, Editor-in-Chief 2023-2026
